Beijing, Ta. October 8, 2019, Tuesday

In view of the increasing number of students going from India to China to MBBS, China has reduced the number of MBBS seats in English. According to sources, only 45 colleges out of 200 local medical colleges have been allowed to teach MBBS in English.

In the last few years, the number of Indian students going to China who have done MBBS has been increasing. Compared to the US, Britain and Australia, Chinese education is cheaper because a large number of Indian students are going to China to study.

It is estimated that at present 23,000 Indian students are studying in various courses of Chinese universities. While 28,000 Pakistani students are studying in China. A total of five million foreign students are studying in Chinese universities. Of the 23,000 students studying in China, 21,000 are doing MBBS.

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy has issued a statement saying that the Chinese Ministry of Education (MoE) has approved 45 medical colleges for foreign students to do MBBS in English. Foreign students in medical colleges other than these cannot do MBBS in English.

The Indian Embassy has issued a statement stating that the list of names of medical colleges in China that do not get foreign students to MBBS in English has been deleted from the Indian Embassy website so as not to confuse and mislead Indian students.

Foreign students currently studying in colleges other than the 45 colleges selected to teach English will be given the opportunity to complete their education in English, but new foreign students will not be able to study in English at colleges other than 45 colleges.
