Three hours of earthquake shocks in Himachal Chamba in one hour: no damage

In the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, there were two earthquake shocks today and yesterday, but no reports of casualties came from anywhere. The epicenter of the shock at 12.10 and 12.57 pm was five km away from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir border, the Shimla Meteorological Department said. The first earthquake was a magnitude five that came at 12:10. The second shock was at a magnitude 3.2 which occurred at 12:40 pm.

The two earthquake shocks also hit Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. There were no reports of casualties. Most of the area, including Chamba, falls in high seismic zones. The earthquake struck in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. In Doda and Kishtwar districts, a magnitude 4.9 was hit. At 8:04 am, the first shock lasted only for hundreds of hours.

Meanwhile, in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities issued an advisory and all educational institutions and offices were asked to hold a mock drill in the next two days. The impact of the tremors was exacerbated in the Bhadrawah Valley, parts of Doda, Kishtwar and Khalsa areas.

'After the mock drill alarm, all officers and students will have to move out of the building to a safe place. They have to leave, especially in the open space. Where there is more to choose the ones that are less affected by the earthquake, it should stand for a while, the advisory said.
