Subramanian Swamy calls for goodwill PM Narasimha Rao to give Bharat Ratna

New delhi date. 12 September 2019 Thursday

BJP Speaker Dr Subramanian Swamy has demanded that the people of the country should demand that the Union Government should give Bharat Ratna Award to Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao on Independence Day next year.

He said that Narasimhara Rao was the first Prime Minister to initiate economic reforms and told the Supreme Court that there was a temple earlier on the site of controversial construction. If solid evidence is provided that the mosque was demolished, my government would hand over the land to Hindu institutions. No such government had taken such a clear attitude before.

Swami also said that after the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi in 1991 by the Suicide Bomber, Narasimhara Rao became the Prime Minister and led a good administration for five years. He died in Delhi on December 23, 2004. Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian honor in the country.

In 2014 and during the recent Lok Sabha elections, the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said more than once that the Congress had stripped PV Narasimha Rao, the great Telugu leader himself. Swami said that the central government should correct the mistake of Congress and give Narasimhara Rao Bharat Ratna posthumously.
