Senior lawyer and former union minister Ram Jethmalani has passed away at the age of six. Ram Jethmalani, who defended the assassins of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, was known for fighting the country's most controversial cases.

They have fought cases in which the accused has been angry all over the country. However, Jethmalani used to say that every accused has a right to defend himself and he cannot be called a criminal unless he is found guilty.

Ram Jethmalani, who was once praised and later criticized by Modi, continued to advocate for the final years of his life. However, in the final years, he said that now I am interested in fighting such cases which will keep the interest of the country and more people.

On September 7, only a few days before Ram Jethmalani's birth day, Jethmalani took his last breath at his residence. In the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Jethmalani served as Union Law Minister and he also became Urban Development Minister. Later, he contested the Lok Sabha elections from Lucknow.

Ram Jethmalani has also been president of the Supreme Court Bar Association in the 5th. People also paid tribute to him after reports of Ram Jethmalani's passing came. President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to him. The country has lost a good lawyer and iconic figure who made huge contributions to both Parliament and the Court. Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh also paid tribute. Manmohan Singh said the country has lost a good and expert jurist.

In the 5th Ram Jethmalani was suspended from the BJP for making anti-party statements. Born in Sindh province (now in Pakistan) in the 8th, Jethmalani took a law degree at the age of just six. He defended the killers of Indira and Rajiv Gandhi in their most hyperfile cases.
