Ready to mediate on Kashmir issue, but India's obvious refusal: Trump

United Nations (PTI) September 23, 2019, Monday

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday met Donald Trump with Kashmir issue, but he faced another blow. Donald Trump changed his earlier stance that he was ready for a moderator on the Kashmir issue, but only if both sides were ready and India had explicitly denied third party mediation on the issue.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan once again raised the issue of Kashmir before US President Donald Trump before the UN General Assembly meeting. Imran Khan said that it is America's responsibility as the most powerful country in the world.

The Kashmir issue can be very big. In response, Trump said I was ready for mediation. I'm also keen on it and able to do it mid-way. I am also a very good arbitrator. However, this is a very complicated issue and has been around for a long time.

However, I am ready for moderation only if both parties are ready. And India has explicitly denied third party mediation in the dispute. Trump also praised the 'Howdy Modi' program in the presence of Imran Khan, the next day when he was on the same platform with Prime Minister Modi in Houston.

He said that I have very good friendly relations with Prime Minister Modi. I also have good relations with Prime Minister Imran Khan. I am also a good arbitrator and I have never failed as an arbitrator, saying Trump refrained from responding directly to reporters' questions on the Kashmir issue.

Referring to the Howdy Modi program, Trump said that Prime Minister Modi at the mega rally was very aggressive on the Article 370 issue and people present there were listening to him very well. I hope India and Pakistan will somehow find a solution that is good for both Kashmir disputes. Talking to reporters after his meeting with Imran Khan, Trump also used to ridicule Pakistani journalists.

A reporter said that for the first time such a good president of the United States has been made, Trump said that you believe so, but my stance on Pakistan is very strong. A reporter said that the Internet, food has been closed for 50 days over Kashmir, saying Trump looked in front of Imran Khan and asked where did you bring such a reporter? Imran Khan was blown away by Trump's response.

Modi-Trump program provides an example of visionary leadership: American leaders

Howdy Modi's program was widely praised by American leaders. Top US leaders - Officials described the program as a symbol of the strengthening of Indo-US relations. The American media also praised the program and called it an unprecedented success. America's dark echoes of the success of the Howdy Modi program were shaken. Trump-Modi's performance in the dilapidated field was profoundly affected.
