Preparation of charge sheet against Chidambaram: 450 CBI questions in 100 hours

Former Union Minister P.K. Chidambaram was arrested by the CBI, during which he was asked by the agency about 450 questions when he was kept in custody. Now a charge sheet against Chidambaram is also being prepared in the INX media case.

There are reports that the CBI has prepared a charge sheet against Chidambaram. He may be arraigned before the court in the third week of this month. If the CBI files the chargesheet, it may be difficult for Chidambaram to get bail.

According to information obtained by CBI sources, during the custody, the CBI had asked Chidambaram about 450 questions in 100 hours. Most of the questions asked by Chidambaram were related to FIPB clearance and Karti Chidambaram. Meanwhile, Chidambaram was confronted with five persons including Sindhu Shri Sullar and Prabodh Saxena.

According to information obtained by sources, the CBI is preparing to bring chargesheet against 10 accused in this case. Including some company names. He was questioned for 100 hours during the 15-day CBI custody. There were also questions about emails to Karti and others. Chidambaram is currently locked in Tihar jail, he has been remanded in judicial custody.

They will be kept in Tihar jail for 14 days. In the meantime, it may be difficult for him to get bail in the event that a charge sheet is filed against him. Earlier, Kapil Sibal had argued in court that the CBI had kept Chidambaram in custody for 15 days although there was no evidence. The court, however, sent Chidambaram to judicial custody in Tihar jail.
