PM Modi's US tour: Big deal in energy sector on first day, MoU sign for five tonnes of LNG

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Houston on a US tour. Prime Minister Modi attended the CEO Round Table of energy sector companies on the first day of his US tour.

The meeting, signed at the Hotel Post Oak in Houston, signed the Memorandum of Understanding for liquefied natural gas alongside Tellurion and Petronet. MoUs were signed for five million tonnes of LNG. Tellurion and Petronet have set a target to finalize the transaction agreement by March 2020.

It is worth mentioning that, in February, Tellurion announced the possibility of investing in the PLL Driftwood project by signing an MoU with Petronet LNG Limited India.

It was informed by the company that it would include natural gas production, consolidation, processing and transportation facilities along with the proposed LNG terminal. LNG is also being imported to the United States along with Russia and Australia.

He will also attend the Howdy Modi program organized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his honor on the US tour. The program is organized by the non-profit organization Texas India Forum, involving people from 48 states. The program will also include US President Donald Trump.

PM Modi will also inaugurate a 50-kilowatt Gandhi Solar Park during his tour. Prime Minister Modi, who arrived in Houston earlier today, was warmly welcomed. Indians living in Houston have reached out to Hotel Oak with tricolors in hand to welcome their Prime Minister.
