Modi-Oli jointly inaugurates a petroleum pipeline for Nepal

Prime Minister Modi and Nepal's Prime Minister KPoli together today inaugurated the first pipeline across the border, the first of its kind in South Asia, and now Nepal will be able to provide petrol without any hindrance to meet its needs at a cheap price.

The 69-km Motihari-Amalekhganj oil pipeline was inaugurated by the two leaders sitting in the capital of their own country.

Together, the two countries are also working to build a tank at Amalekhganj, where it will store oil products in Nepal, in which the Nepalese government has invested Rs 75 crore. Reaffirming Nepal's commitment to development, Prime Minister Modi said that bilateral projects initiated by the two countries were making good progress.

Modi hoped that in the coming days he would also jointly inaugurate it with the Prime Minister of Nepal. Modi said the pipeline was completed in record time.

However, the time limit for completing the project was 30 months which was completed in just 15 months. The project was laid down during Oli's visit to India last year. Modi had hinted that the money saved after the project would be benefited by the customers.

Nepal's Prime Minister Oli said that this pipeline could bring 20 million metric tonnes of clean petrol products to Nepal every year. This pipeline is a big achievement for Nepal.
