Migration of 16,000 after torrential rains in Nimach, Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh


Many rivers in Uttar Pradesh are above the danger level

Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh have been flooded due to torrential rains in three states of North India. Mildaur in Madhya Pradesh and torrential rains in Nimch created heavy flooding on Sunday, causing more than 16,000 people to migrate in some areas.

On the other hand, more than 350 children and 50 teachers have been trapped in a school in Chittorgarh due to heavy rains in Rajasthan. A campaign is underway to save them. Heavy rains in Uttar Pradesh have caused many rivers to rise to dangerous levels.

The torrential rains have been raining in the western Madhya Pradesh for the last few days, causing loss of normal life here. Police superintendent Hitesh Chowdhury said that 13,000 to 14,000 people have been shifted to safer places from 100 to 125 villages of Mandsaur on Sunday as the floods caused by heavy rains.

Rescue operations are underway in these areas. Tantra has kept a close eye on Srithi. After the level of the backwater at Gandhi Sagar Dam in Mandsaur had risen above the warning level, the city of Rampura in Nimch was flooded, which led to the transfer of more than 2300 people.

Weather department officials said that in the last 24 hours, 218 mm of Mansaur was recorded in Mansaur while 243 mm of rainfall was recorded in Mansa city of Neemuch.

Mandsaur district received 1,927.80 mm of rainfall this year during the monsoon June 1, which is almost three times the annual average of 742.10 mm. Similarly in Nimch, this year, the monsoon has received a total rainfall of 1,569.70 mm, while the annual average here is 706.90 mm.

Due to heavy rainfall in the area, 19 gates of the Gandhi Sagar Dam were opened and 4.93 lakh cusecs of water was released. As a result, many areas were flooded. Due to the heavy rains in Rajasthan, the rivers that were releasing water from Rana Pratap Dam started flowing on both banks and flood-like conditions were created in many areas.

As a result, 350 children and 50 teachers were trapped in a school in Chittorgarh amidst rain. Upon receiving information that students and teachers were trapped, people in the area provided immediate assistance and basic services like food and water. The system has the task of getting students and teachers out of school.

On the other hand, the Chambal River in Shyopur is flowing above the danger level, leaving millions of cusecs of water from Kota Barrage. Due to the increased water level of Chambal, many rivers in river banks have flood-like conditions and highways connecting Jaipur and Sawai Madhopur are also submerged. Due to rains in Kota, normal life has been lost. In the quota, 18 gates of the barrage were opened and five and a half cusecs of water was released.

Due to heavy rainfall in many areas of Uttar Pradesh, rivers are flowing above the danger level due to the release of water from various dams. According to the Central Water Commission report, the Ganges river is above the danger level in Baliya and Ghazipur while the water level in Varanasi, Allahabad and Badun has reached near dangerous levels.

Similarly in Yamuna Banda flows above the danger level. The Betwa river in Hamirpur is also above the danger level. The state government has notified rescue operations in the affected areas.
