Kejriwal is offended by the offer of free travel to women in the Delhi Metro

New delhi date. September 6, 2019, Friday

The Supreme Court has raised a number of questions on the Delhi government's proposal for free travel for women in the Delhi metro. The Supreme Court has asked the Delhi government why women are being freed in the Delhi Metro.

The Supreme Court further said that this decision of the government will not be beneficial for the DMRC. The court has advised the Delhi government that it should use the people's tax money properly.

A Bench of Justice Arun Mishra said that the Delhi government has to ensure that the Delhi Metro is not harmed. If the metro gets hurt, the Delhi government will have to suffer. The bench said that on the one hand you are giving away items for free and on the other hand, demanding money from the central government by talking about losses in the Supreme Court.

Justice Deepak Gupta said if you allow people to travel for free it will cause many problems. If you talk about loss then the money you have is the people. If you misuse people's money, the court is not powerless.

The bench said why you want to close the Delhi Metro. You want to spend on freight travel to the central government. It is worth mentioning that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced in June that his government was considering providing free travel to women in the Delhi metro and it would start implementation in two to three months.

However, a lawyer present on behalf of the Delhi government said that the Delhi government did not implement the proposal of free travel of women in the metro. If there is any damage to the Delhi Metro in the fourth phase of 103.94 km of Delhi Metro, then the Delhi Government will have to compensate it. The Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) has the responsibility of ensuring that the Delhi Metro is not damaged.
