Kali died in the superhit movie Sholaya

Actor Viju Khate, a trusted actor of Gabbar Singh, died in Mumbai at the age of 78 in Ramesh Sippy's superhit film Sholay. Viju was the brother of actress Kam Olympus cyclist Shubha Khotena.

Viju's nephew and renowned TV actress Bhavana Balsawar gave the news. He said that my uncle had been suffering from kidney disease for a long time. He was admitted to the hospital some time ago. There, he was brought home by his health. He breathed his last at 6.55am on Monday morning. Her kidney had failed.

Viju has acted in over 300 Hindi-Marathi films in the last 45-50 years. Viju also did a few TV serials. Roberta's role in the film Estima Apna Apna was as popular as Sholena Kaliya's.

His funeral will be held at Chandanwadi Cemetery in South Bombay around 11.30am on Monday morning.
