Increased stoning cases in Jaipur: Police conduct investigation to find out the cause

Jaipur, a commonly regarded peace-loving city of Rajasthan, has been in tension for the past few years as the incidents of stoning have been increasing.

Five such incidents were reported in the last twenty days. Police were investigating the cause. The structure of this ancient city is such that all religions are interconnected with the local people. Until recently, the city was considered to be quite peaceful.

The highest tension here was during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, which started in the late 1980s. At that time, there were retail incidents of violence and in those days there was curfew in Jaipur for fifteen to twenty days. Apart from this, there have been rarely any violent incidents.

But for the past few years, the incidence of communal tensions has been constant. For the first time, on August 11, a stone-throwing incident took place at Cawdia. Then, in the last twenty days, the tension of the police was increased by five such incidents.

Subhash happened in Chowk before the stabbing incident. This happened in the Eidgah area and then in the Gangapole area. When the police arrived at the scene, the assailants fled.
