How was Chidambaram's first night in Tihar Jail number seven?

Former finance minister P Chidambaram was kept in Tihar Jail number seven and only a pillow was found to be placed under his head. This morning we had Paua's breakfast with tea like water. On the first night, Chidambaram did not sleep till late because there was no comfortable bed, no pillows or no air conditioner.

Earlier on Thursday, the Supreme Court rejected Chidambaram's anticipatory bail application. He was then sent to Tihar jail as part of judicial custody at the behest of Rouse Avenue Court.

All the efforts of senior Congress leaders and veteran lawmaker Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Manu Sanghvi etc, for Chidambaram should not go to Tihar Jail. The court had sent Chidambaram to jail in Tihar jail on September 19 as part of judicial custody. Chidambaram, a senior Congress leader and one of the most accomplished former ministers in the history of independent India, had suffered from such stigma.

Former finance minister's son Karti Chidambaram was also kept in the same barracks. According to the court order, Chidambaram will be celebrating his birthday in jail this year due to 14 days in jail.
