Chinmayanand Case: Directive to construct SIT and shift victim to other colleges

In the case of sexual harassment of a law student in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the Supreme Court has directed the SIT to investigate and move the student to another college.

The Supreme Court has directed the government to shift the victim to another college for alleged sexual harassment along with a law student in Uttar Pradesh. Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former minister Swami Chinmayananda has been accused of sexual harassment with a law student in the case. During the hearing of the case, the Supreme Court directed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the allegations.

In addition, the Supreme Court directed the High Court to set up a batch to monitor the case. During the hearing, the Supreme Court clarified that it was not presenting an opinion and asked the state government to submit the student's example to another college.

According to the details of the case, on August 24, a 23-year-old law student posted a video on Facebook accusing the former union minister of sexual exploitation of several women including himself.

In the video, the girl also claimed to have evidence and later disappeared. However, a special team of UP police later picked him up from Rajasthan on August 30. The Supreme Court also directed the woman and her family members to provide protection.
