China warns US not to hit Hong Kong head on

Hong Kong, Ta. September 10, 2019, Tuesday

Hong Kong rulers today warned the United States not to degrade as the rulers were properly conducting the pro-democracy movement in the city, prompting renewed agitation in Hong Kong.

After its acquisition from the British in 1997, the movement created a major problem for China in the 14th week and millions of spectators joined the rally today.

Protesters marched to the US Embassy on Sunday demanding passage of a bill to Congress to support the pro-democracy movement.

Meanwhile, the movement's main author, Joshua Wang, visited German Foreign Minister Haiku Mas in Berlin today. Beijing, however, described the visit as an insult to China. Wang, 22, posted a photo with his Twitter account Parmas, saying he had discussed free elections and restoration of democracy in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong's decision to pass a bill to Congress to become a US mediator will reduce Hong Kong's status of special trade partnerships. Additionally, each of their goods will have additional checking. But Hong Kong Chief Kerry Lam said any change in economic relations with Washington would threaten mutual benefit.

"It is not unfair in any country to interfere in Hong Kong's internal affairs. I hope no one from Hong Kong will ask America to pass the bill," he tweeted.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chuying said: "We hope they will withdraw their black hands from Hong Kong soon." Meanwhile, some leaders from both sides of the US supported the Hong Kong movement. Trump appealed to both parties to resolve the political issue peacefully and urged Beijing not to commit violent activities.
