With Pakistan releasing more water in Indian territory, some villages in Ferozpur district of the Punjab border along the catchment area of ​​the Sutlej River area were in danger of being submerged.

Officials said on Sunday that the Ferozepur district administrative system had been alerted. While the Army and MDRF teams were deployed as a precautionary measure. The flood situation was already bad in Punjab. There was a danger of getting worse by releasing water.

"Pakistan had released large quantities of water, causing great damage to the village of Tendiwala and now some villages were also in danger of flooding," a Punjab government spokesman said. But the vigilant administrative system moved people from several flooded villages elsewhere, and health department teams were deployed as a precautionary measure.

Besides, the supply department and other departments were also told to be ready. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh asked the Water Resources Department to form a joint plan with the army to control the situation in the villages along the Indo-Pak border.

Ferozepur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Rupnagar districts were asked to review the flood situation. He directed the Principal Secretary Water Resources to work on war-footing to check the infiltration of flood water in the nearby villages.

The spokesman said that people need not be disturbed, as the administrative system is ready to deal with the situation and to deliver relief materials to the affected area as soon as possible.

A large number of sand bags were collected and work was started to strengthen the amber. "The operation was carried out on a war-footing basis to repair the damage caused by leaving a large amount of water left to Pakistan," the spokesman said.
