Former finance minister Arun Jaitley passed away at 66, but he will always be remembered in Indian politics. Arun Jaitley was the face of national politics that was an important link between Atal Bihari Vajpayee's BJP to Narendra Modi's BJP.

Thus, as many Lokayans were active in the days of Jayaprakash Narayan and VP Singh, but after Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government, he became the face of the BJP which continued to shine till the Modi government.

Important link of Atalji and Modi government

He then took over the responsibility of the Ministry of Disinvestment, Law Ministry, Industry and Commerce. For the first time in 2000, the Cabinet became the Minister.

Played an important role in the Modi government

Jaitley had played a major role in formally announcing Modi as the BJP's PM candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Jaitley played an important role in bringing together Rajnath Singh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Nitin Gadkari.

Like Arun, Narendra was a crisis for Modi

Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley was a longtime friend of Narendra Modi and served as a crisis-maker for him. After the 2002 riots in Gujarat, Prime Minister Vajpayee wanted to oust Modi as CM, but Jaitley is said to have played a significant role in persuading Vajpayee.

Also, when the BJP lost in the Lok Sabha elections under Advani's leadership in 2004, the RSS asked the BJP to look beyond Advani as the face of the party. It was at this time that Jaitley supported his longtime friend Narendra Modi as the BJP's chief ministerial candidate.

Jaitley openly backed his support after Modi was elected as the Chief Minister of Gujarat once more in 2012. Naidu later joined Jaitley too. Thus, after the BJP's victory in the Lok Sabha in 2014, Jaitley's dominance in the party increased and he was given important portfolios of defense and defense.

At this time, he took Pramod Mahajan into the trust, announced Nitish Kumar as the NDA's chief ministerial candidate and advised him to go on the justice journey. Subsequently, Nitish Kumar became a majority government. Nitish Kumar has been CM since then.

Earlier in 2003, he was appointed as the leader of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. In that too, he gave victory to the BJP. Following his strategy, Shivraj Singh Chauhan remained the Chief Minister for 15 years. In 2008, he was appointed the leader of the Karnataka Assembly elections and Jaitley had a significant role in wiping out the state for the first time in Karnataka.
