Hindus fill most bogus details, running for National Register of Citizenship in Assam

Hindus were found to be giving the most bogus details of people living in Assam and eager to register their name in the National Register of Citizenship (NRC). This information was given by the officers who examined the details. He said that Hindus were filling more information than Muslims.

This register closes on August 31st. The details will then be revealed. Details are currently being filled in the presence of a Supreme Court representative. Informed sources said that till now there was a belief that Muslims from outside were filling in the wrong details to settle here as citizens. But the reality is different. The Hindus were filling the most inaccurate details. Recently, the BJP government in Assam claimed that the names of Hindus were removed from the preliminary form of the NRC.

Assam's government issued a list of names that were deleted in the legislature, following the Supreme Court's directive to maintain confidentiality. The Supreme Court had a clear direction to keep this list in a sealed cover. The state government did not ignore the order.
