Former finance minister Arun Jaitley's mortal body dissolves in Panchamahal

The body of former finance minister and BJP leader Arun Jaitley was dissolved on Sunday at Nigamobodh Ghat in the presence of his family, top BJP leaders and workers with full political honors. His son, Rohan, put his body in the middle of the Vedic mantras.

Thousands of activists flocked to give a final farewell to senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley at Nigamobodh Ghat on the banks of the river Yamuna. Before the final action, Arun Jaitley was given the Gun Salute with political honors.

Jaitley, 66, died on Saturday after a prolonged illness at Aimes. Arun Jaitley's health deteriorated and he was admitted to AIIMS on August 9th. However, he took his final breath on Saturday afternoon at 12.07 on Saturday. His body was then taken to his residence at Kailash Colony.

Meanwhile, several leaders of the opposition, who had risen above party politics, also paid tribute to Arun Jaitley. Acting President of Congress Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, AAP leader Sanjay Singh paid tribute to him at his residence at Kailash Colony in Jaitley. President Ramanath Kovind also arrived at his residence to pay tribute to him.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to Arun Jaitley on Saturday saying that he could not imagine that he was in Bahrain far from India and his close friend and party colleague Arun Jaitley had passed away in New Delhi.

The body of Arun Jaitley, wrapped in a national flag, was brought to BJP headquarters from his residence at Kailash Colony at 11am where his body was kept for the last sighting of the people till around midnight. At BJP headquarters, people from the party workers to the common man paid their tribute.

Senior leaders present at his funeral included Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, senior BJP leader LK Advani, party president and Home Minister Amit Shah, defense minister Rajnath Singh, party activist J.P. Nada, Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani and Anurag Thakur, BJP MPs Vijay Goyal and Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kapil Sibal, NCP leader Pragyal Patel were present.

Venkaiah Naidu, who had worked with Jaitley for a long time in the BJP, became very emotional on the final journey and stood idly for a few minutes near Jaitley's body. Chief ministers of BJP-ruled states as well as Arvind Kejriwal and Nitish Kumar were also present at the funeral. Party workers remembered Jaitley as a leader who was always present when needed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has traveled to three countries, recalled former finance minister Arun Jaitley in Bahrain, saying, "A friend who had dreamed and fulfilled a long journey that ended with a friend, Arun Jaitley left his body today."

Prime Minister Modi was in Bahrain at the time of Jaitley's death. Addressing the Indian society here, the Prime Minister said, "I am very sad when all Krishna is celebrating birthdays. I'm sitting in the throes of deep pain.

From student life to a friend who went about life in public life. The journey of politics began with. Stood by each other and danced together. BJP and Arun Jaitley had an intimate relationship. As a student leader he was at the forefront of defending democracy in the time of emergency.

We dreamed together and fulfilled the long journey that accomplished these dreams, a friend Arun Jaitley left the body today. I can't imagine I'm here this far and my friend Arun is gone. I've lost a valuable friend. He was adept at understanding issues and elaborating on matters.

A few days ago this month, our ex-minister Sushma Swaraj also left and today my friend went to Arun. This is the moment of great dilemma for me. On one hand I am bound to duty and on the other hand feelings of friendship are erupting in my mind.

They left us with good memories of themselves. I pay homage to Brother Arun Jaitley from the land of Bahrain and bow to him. At the same time, I pray that God will empower his family in times of distress. '

With the demise of Jaitley, the era of Delhi-4 remained

With the demise of senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley, the era of 'Delhi-4' has lingered in the BJP. Venkaiah Naidu, Anant Kumar, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley were given the distinction of 'Delhi-4' in the BJP.

From 2004 to 2014, these four high-profile leaders played a key role in every decision in national politics and party management. All these four leaders were moving under the leadership of LK Advani. All four leaders were in the cabinet in the Vajpayee government.

Jaitley died on Saturday when former Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj passed away earlier this month. Anant Kumar passed away in November last year, when Naidu is now vice-president, away from active politics. Thus, with the demise of Jaitley, BJP has lost the 'Delhi-4' era in the BJP.
