Big conspiracy behind clean-chit to Mulayam-Akhilesh: Congress leader's plea in Supreme

(PTI) New Delhi, Ta. August 12, 2019, Monday

Congress leader and RTI activist Vishwanash Chaturvedi appealed to the Supreme Court to re-examine the issue of cleanliness in the case of former Uttar Pradesh chief ministers: Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav.

A case was filed against Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav, leaders of the Samajwadi Party and former chief ministers, for allegedly possessing more assets than income during 2009 to 2013. The investigation was conducted in 2013 and the two were then given a clinchit.

In the context of the case, Congress leader and RTI activist Vishwanash Chaturvedi filed a petition to the Supreme Court demanding a fresh investigation. The Congress leader said that in 2013, the inquiry was virtually diverted and both leaders were given a clean chit.

Earlier, a hearing was held under the leadership of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ranjan Gogoi.

In this regard, the petitioner Congress leader renewed the plea and alleged that in the whole case a conspiracy was made to give both leaders a clean chit. He also accused the CBI of misleading the Supreme Court. The petitioner alleged that the CBI had removed certain facts from the probe and ruled out a serious crime.

Earlier, the court had dismissed the CBI and said that according to the CBI record, it was recorded that the statement was made in the first instance. So why didn't the case actually be filed?

Earlier, the CBI had told the Supreme Court that in 2013, after a four-week investigation, there was no fact-finding investigation. He is also accused of causing a lot of confusion in the case.

Mulayam Singh Yadav presented the affidavit saying it was cleared by the CBI. While the CBI considers the report as fake. The CBI says Clinchit was not in debt, but the investigation was closed.
