9 killed in landslide in Uttarakhand-Kashmir


A total of 116 people were killed in Kerala, 76 in Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra, many still missing.

There are floods in many states of the country. States like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Goa, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh have more impact. Only four flood-affected states have so far killed 192 people. In the meantime, a landslide has occurred in Uttarakhand in which six people have been killed. The states in which floods are located include Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat.

While Uttarakhand and Jammu are receiving heavy rains. Six people were killed in a landslide in Uttarakhand on Monday. There were three landslides in Chamoli district in which six people, including a woman, were killed and died on the spot. Similarly, three people were killed in a landslide in Jammu and Kashmir, three people of the same family were killed in a landslide in Rasai district of Jammu.

Due to floods in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala, many road roads have been washed away and some had to be closed. For instance, the Mumbai Bangalore National Highway number four had to be closed for the last six days due to heavy floods in Maharashtra. The highway was opened on Monday with little relief.

Similarly in Karnataka, the roads were re-opened between Kolhapur and Belgaum. The death toll has increased to 43 in Maharashtra, 4.48 lakh people were shifted to safer places here on Sunday. Floods have affected 80 talukas and 17 districts in Karnataka. So far 42 people have been killed here

While 12 people are missing. The state government has announced the assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of those killed here and one lakh to those whose homes have been washed away or destroyed. So far, a total of 192 people have been killed in various incidents in floods in Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat together.
