Assam's rare 'lovely gold tea' costs Rs. 50,000!

As a tea house, Assam has several species of tea. At that time, 'lovely gold tea', one of the rare tea species of Assam, has become the most expensive tea. A kilo of 'lovely gold tea' has been sold for Rs 50,000 per kg at the Guwahati Tea Auction Center on Tuesday.

Last year, the tea was sold at Rs 39001 a kg. Earlier in 2018, Golden Needle Tea of ​​Polo Tea Estate of Arunachal Pradesh was purchased at a price of Rs 40,000 per kg. Then Dinesh Binani of Guwahati Tea Auction Center claimed that 'Manohari Gold Tea' is the most expensive type of tea sold at any public auction.

According to Rajan Lohia, owner of Manohari Tea Garden in Dibrugarh, Upper Assam, only five kilos of 'Manohari Gold Tea' was prepared this year. He said the task of preparing this tea was very cowardly, adding that only five kilograms of tea have been prepared this year without the support of the weather.

This tea is made from small shoots instead of leaves. During the months of May and June, the buds are carefully discharged early in the morning. A tea trader named Manjilal Maheshwari has bought this tea at a price of Rs.50,000 per kg. Last year, he also bought two kilos of gold tea.
