America's H1B visa will end soon. The American Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) has issued a statement and informed about it. The initial registration date for H1B visas for fiscal year 2025 is ending on March 22, USCIS said.
Foreign nationals working in the US require an H1B visa. Its registration window opened on March 6. The H1B visa registration date will end on March 22 at 12 noon (9:30 PM IST), the statement issued said.
Registration will be online. A myUSCIS account must be used for that. The application and its fee will also have to be paid by him.
These documents have to be provided
Valid passport details and valid travel documents must be provided for registration. If any irregularities are found then the application may be rejected.
After registration is completed, those selected will be notified on their myUSCIS online account by March 31. Then from April 1 online form will be submitted for H1B cap petition. Whereas, the petition date for H1B non-cap will be announced soon.
Application Form I-129 for nonimmigrant workers and Application Form I-907 for premium service are available, USCIS said.
Visa fee has increased
Visa applications will be accepted for FY 2025 from April 1. After years, the US government has also increased the visa fee.
The visa fee has been increased from $10 to $110. On the other hand, the registration fee for H-1B visa has also increased from $10 to $215.
What is H1B Visa?
The H1B visa is a non-immigrant visa. It allows American companies to hire foreign workers. An H1B visa is issued whenever a person works for an American company.
It used to be that if one's H1B visa expired, one had to return to one's home country for renewal. But now you don't have to come home for the renewal process. The visa will be renewed only after staying in America.
Simplifying the H1B visa renewal process will benefit around one million people and a large number of them will be Indians. Millions of Indians work in America. In 2022, the US government issued H-1B to 4.42 lakh people. Out of which 73% were Indians.
