Udaipur massacre: Kanhaiyalal's dependent family gets Rs. 50 lakh help announced

The killing of a tailor in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on Tuesday has sparked outrage across the country. In addition, people have been staging protests to tighten security as a precautionary measure.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh to the dependent family of the deceased Kanhaiyalal. He is also scheduled to meet Kanhaiyalal's family today.

Ashok Gehlot said, "I assure the people of the region that in the same manner in which the perpetrators have been punished through prompt action in several chapters of the Pox Act, other incidents, including Udaipur, will be dealt with harshly."

I would consider this a terrorist attack: Pilot

Congress leader Sachin Pilot has said that he would consider the Udaipur murder case a terrorist attack. He said the government had also said that the incident had to be viewed as a terrorist attack. The accused have been arrested and will be sentenced by a fast track court which will set an example in the country and the world.

He further said that all kinds of help would also be provided to the victim's family. The people who will be held responsible for this incident, no matter how big a celebrity or a big official, should be dealt with harshly.
