Jaishankar talks with Chinese Foreign Minister on issues including Ladakh border




A meeting of G20 foreign ministers has been held in Bali. Meanwhile, a bilateral meeting between the Foreign Ministers of India and China was also held. External Affairs Minister of India S. Jaishankar discussed the issue, including the Ladakh border, with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
During the meeting held in Bali, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi agreed to resolve the ongoing disputes between the two countries peacefully. India demanded immediate resolution of the LAC border dispute. In this regard, the Chinese Foreign Minister expressed readiness to reach a compromise by holding the next level meeting between the military officials of the two countries. During the hour-long meeting, the foreign ministers of the two countries discussed ways to resolve the dispute through mutual cooperation, respect and sensitivity.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed readiness to hold a meeting between the next military officials to resolve the dispute over eastern Ladakh. The Indian Foreign Minister called for immediate settlement of bilateral issues and enhanced cooperation between the two countries in other areas. Mutual cooperation will not grow until the burning issue is resolved. Apart from this, Jaishankar also raised the issue of an Indian student who could not resume his studies after the Coronation period. China had promised to reduce the matter.
The situation on the border between the two countries is stable, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said after the meeting.
