Devendra Fadnavis bows down: Delhi's petition accepts Deputy Chief Minister's post

Navi Mumbai, Ta. Thursday, June 30, 2022

With the Shiv Sena disbanded and the government formed, the situation is such that the BJP is breaking its own house. The Modi-Shah duo, who specialize in master strokes, have shocked everyone by deciding to make Eknath Shinde the Chief Minister. The announcement of this master stroke was made by Devendra Fadnavis, a contender for the Chief Minister's post, in a press conference.

However, now the situation has become difficult for the BJP where the unhappy Devendra Fadnavis decided not to join the government. JP Nadda and the Delhi High Court have asked Fadnavis to accept the post of Deputy CM so that the drastic decision taken in the wake of the Mast Stroke does not become a problem for the BJP and Devendra himself.

Shah and Nadda have announced that Devendra Fadnavis has accepted the post of Deputy Chief Minister keeping in view the demands of the BJP and the development needs of the people of Maharashtra.

Why not Devendra CM? A political move ...

Devendra Fadnavis is considered closer to the RSS than the BJP. He did not want to be a minister as he did not get the post of Chief Minister in Maharashtra. This resentment was clear that if he was not getting the post of CM, he would not consume anything less.
It could also be a political ploy not to hand over the BJP's CM post to Fadnavis. For example, giving Eknath Shinde the post of Deputy Chief Minister may be like the blow struck by Ajit Pawar. If Shinde leaves the BJP at any time, withdraws support and merges with Shiv Sena, he will be humiliated again. Due to this, by giving the post of Chief Minister to Eknath Shinde, the BJP has in a way kept Shinde's bow in its hands in Delhi.
