When the Muslim teacher greeted the officer with a tilak, the fellow teacher got angry

Fellow Muslim teachers were outraged after a Muslim teacher applied tilak on his head to welcome the new education officer who had been transferred to Aligarh. Which has caused controversy.

When the new officer Satish Chandra Mishra took charge in Aligarh after his transfer, a ceremony was organized by the teachers to welcome him. At the ceremony, Muslim teacher Tahira welcomed him according to Indian tradition and tilaked his head.

However the photo went viral on a WhatsApp group of teachers. On which the member Muslim teachers in the group started giving statements at will.

Commenting on this, Mohammad Ahmed, District President, UP Junior High School Teachers' Union, said, "Should Muslim teachers regret or be happy to see this photo?" Because a Muslim teacher is happily practicing Hinduism, I am sorry to see this

On the other hand, female teacher Tahira Parveen said, "I was the only woman present during the ceremony and so I was asked to do tilak." I said I don't mind. My ideology is that we are teachers and the teacher should teach the lessons of humanity. Tilak is not going to change my religion, the commenting teacher has to think about what he is teaching his children.

Meanwhile, the education department has ordered an inquiry into the matter and announced stern action against the teacher who made the comment.
