Three killed, 11 injured in Philadelphia shooting

Three people were killed and at least 11 were injured in what became known as the Philadelphia shooting late Saturday night, authorities said in a statement.

Police Inspector DF Pace told a news conference that a crowd had opened fire and that a police officer had fired at a suspected assailant.

Paes said many people on South Street celebrate the weekend and shoot at the same time. The condition of those injured in the shooting is not known.

Authorities say no arrests have been made so far but two weapons have been seized. The police department had advised not to go to the spot. Earlier, the police department had injured several people in the incident.

Notable South Street is known for bars ,restaurants and business. Most people gather here to celebrate on the weekends.
