Amid political turmoil in Maharashtra, the Lok Sabha by-elections have created a shocking situation. Where the BJP has captured the Rampur and Azamgarh seats of the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, the only Sangrur seat of the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab has slipped from their hands.

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) candidate Simranjit Singh Mann, who won the by-election in Sangrur, the home constituency of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He attributed the victory to Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale and said, "This is a victory for us and our party workers and Saint Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale."

Simranjit Singh Mane further said that our victory is dedicated to Bhindranwale and Deep Sidhu. All of them have dedicated their blood to the Sikh community.

Deep Sidhu is the same person who died in a road accident recently and was the main conspirator in the violence that took place on Republic Day last year. Newly elected Sangrur MP Simranjit Singh Mann has been in controversy in the past because of his Khalistani ideology.

Simranjit Singh Mane also launched a campaign against the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moozwala. Simranjit Singh Mann is often in controversy because of his Khalistani ideology.

After this victory, his close friends have said that now the priority of Simranjit Singh Mann will be to ensure the release of Sikh youth who have been imprisoned for years.

Who is Simranjit Singh Mann?

Simranjit Singh Mann is a former IPS officer. He was born on 20 May 1945 in Shimla. His father, Lieutenant Colonel Joginder Singh Mann, was the Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 1967.

Simranjit Singh Maan resigned from the police service in 1984 after Operation Blue Star. He was also taken into custody after resigning.

Simranjit Singh Mann was also accused of plotting to assassinate former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, which led to his arrest about 30 times.
