New delhi date. 27 June 2022, Monday

Delhi government minister Satyendra Jain will still have to stay in jail for a few days. A special court judge on Monday reversed the day's decision for judicial custody of Jain, who was arrested by the ED. The court has extended Jain's custody for 14 days. Special Judge Gitanjali Goyal passed the order following an application by the ED seeking extension of Satyendra Jain's custody.

Special Judge Gitanjali Goyal passed the order on an application filed by the ED. Earlier on Monday, the judge refused to consider the application. He said neither Satyendra Jain nor any lawyer representing him was present in the court during the proceedings.

Decreased oxygen level:

Satyendra Jain was admitted to a hospital in Delhi last week due to low oxygen level. This was stated in court. The court then directed the ED to present Jain at the end of the day via video conference. The judge heard his arguments on the ED's application and extended Jain's judicial custody for another 14 days.

The ED had on May 30 arrested Jain in a money laundering case under the criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMAL).
