Muzaffarpur train 2014 case: Witnesses not present to testify against 23 leaders including Giriraj Singh

A case was registered against 23 leaders, including Union Minister Giriraj Singh, for stopping a train at Muzaffarpur Junction railway station. Witnesses could not be reached for comment during Friday's hearing in the case. Witnesses in the case were not present in the MP MLA Special Court so now the court has given a date of July 8 for testimony in this case.

Many BJP and RLSP leaders, including Bihar government minister Ramsurat Rai, Vaishali MP Veena Devi and former minister Surash Kumar Sharma, are accused in the case.

On June 10, Minister Giriraj Singh, Ram Suratrai and other accused were told in court the charges against them. The accused, who were present before the special court, disrupted train services at Muzaffarpur Junction on February 28, 2014, demanding special state status for Bihar, shutting down the railways.

An FIR was registered against 23 nominated leaders based on the statement of the then RPF inspector Arvind Kumar Singh. Meanwhile, the Bihar Sampark Kranti, Sonpur Narkatiyaganj passenger train led by Giriraj Singh was stopped, causing inconvenience to passengers. A case is also pending against the then BJP district president Arvind Kumar, leaders Devilal, KP Pappu, Devanshu Kishore, Anju Rani and Ashish Sahu. All the accused are currently out on bail.
