Get those who refuse to wear masks off the plane ઃ DGCA

Amid rising corona cases, the director of civil aviation, DGCA, has directed that if a passenger refuses to wear a face mask even after the warning, he should be taken off the plane.

In addition, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCCA) has issued a circular stating that arrangements have been made to enlist the help of local police and security agencies and levy fines against passengers who do not wear face masks.

The circular was issued following a June 3 order of the Delhi High Court. It was stated that guidelines have been issued to all employees of airlines and aircraft. According to which flight attendants , air hostesses , captains or pilots as well as passengers have to strictly follow the rules of wearing masks.

Airlines will provide additional masks to passengers if they need them. A male or female passenger who does not wear a mask, even after repeated warnings before the flight, will be dropped off. Then whether the traveler is a woman or a man.

If a person takes off his mask after takeoff, he will be prosecuted under DGCA rules. According to the DGCA rule, airlines have the right to prohibit a passenger from traveling in their airline for some time.

The DGCA's circular said airport officials should also seek the help of local police and security agencies if needed.
