DGCA orders mandatory wearing of mask during air travel

- Delhi High Court orders to take stern action against passengers who refuse to follow guidelines for corona epidemic

New delhi date. 08 June 2022, Wednesday

Aviation regulator DCGA has taken a strict stance against those who do not wear masks during airports and air travel. He said passengers who did not wear masks would be considered unruly and would be ejected from the flight before takeoff.

The notices have been issued in view of the recent rise in Corona cases. The DCGA said on Wednesday that it would enforce the CISF's jaw-dropping rules. If any passenger refuses to follow these rules, he can be dropped off before the take off of the aircraft.

It may be mentioned that this guideline of DCGA has come after the order of Delhi High Court to take strict action against the passengers who refuse to follow the safety measures. The High Court, in its June 3 order, said the Koro epidemic was not over and if passengers refused to comply with the protocol despite repeated reminders, action should be taken against them as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and DCGA.

The court said such passengers could be placed on a "no-fly list" or handed over to security agencies for further strict legal action. "In our view, this would be the right move, as the Corona epidemic is not over yet and is gaining momentum again," the court said.
