Cocaine worth Rs 13.26 crore seized from Liberian woman

- 947 grams of intoxicants were seized from 11 kurta buttons placed in the bag

New Delhi: A Liberian woman trying to smuggle cocaine worth Rs 12.5 crore into the country has been nabbed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here.

A statement from the customs department said the woman had been stopped from arriving in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on Sunday.

A bag with 11 kurtas was found in her personal belongings. The kurta was buttoned horizontally. A total of 3 such buttons were smashed from the kurta and opened and a total of 3 grams of cocaine was found in it, which has been confiscated.

A woman with a Liberian passport has been arrested, the statement added.
