Find out what's the whole case

Mukhtar Ansari, an MLA from UP's Mau assembly constituency, had given Rs 25 lakh to the manager for school construction from his MLA fund. It is alleged that the school was not built. School principal Bejnath Yadav and MLA Anand Yadav were also named as accused in the case. However, both have been granted bail by the Allahabad High Court.

Mukhtar's lawyer gave these arguments

During the hearing of the case, petitioner advocate Upendra Upadhyay argued in the court that Mukhtar Ansari had sanctioned Rs 25 lakh from the MLA's fund for constructing classrooms in the school for the education of children. He told the court that the amount was sanctioned for public interest work as he was an MLA. It is the responsibility of the system and the CDO to see that the money is being used properly. No evidence of criminal conspiracy. The district administration has filed the case only on the basis of possibility. It is alleged that the school was decided at another place instead of the place where the amount was sanctioned. At the same time, prosecutors allege in court that former MLA Mukhtar Ansari was deliberately targeted.
