Beginning to seal property of Kanpur violence accused, Yogi government's bulldozer also in action


- If a person tries to build on a sealed property, he will be prosecuted.

Police are on high alert following the recent violence in Uttar Pradesh. Somewhere the roof is being removed from the head of the accused and somewhere the property is being sealed. The administration is still working on the June 3 violence in Kanpur. The Kanpur administration has started sealing the properties of the accused in the June 3 violence. In addition, some houses have been demolished by bulldozers.

Due to Nupur Sharma's statement about the Prophet, 3 properties have been sealed in the case of violence that erupted on June 3 in Kanpur. Anand Kumar Tiwari, joint commissioner of Kanpur, said the action had been taken in different areas.

Arvind Singh, vice-chairman, Kanpur Development Authority, said the property was sealed without clearance. According to him, the properties built without the clearance of Haji Wasi, Shabi Salim and HS Malik have been sealed. Responsibility for overseeing the sealed property has been assigned to the police in-charge of the nearest police station in the area. He further said that the Commissioner of Police has asked all station in-charges to be instructed to take stern action against any person who tries to build on the sealed property.

The move comes a day after a meeting was convened by Yogi Adityanath to review the law and order situation. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed that action be taken against those accused of violence.

It may be mentioned that people took to the streets in Kanpur on June 3 to protest against Nupur Sharma's statement. Clashes broke out between protesters and police and petrol bombs were hurled. The administration also used bulldozers after the violence. On June 10, after the June 3 incident in Kanpur, protesters took to the streets in several cities and even then there were violent incidents.
