Wheat procurement target not met: DM withholds salaries of officials

In Hapud, Uttar Pradesh , the district magistrate has withheld the salaries of several officials, including SDM , for not meeting the wheat procurement target on time. The district magistrate has also issued an order in this regard.

Wheat procurement started from April 1 at the government wheat procurement center in Hapud , but even after 50 days, only 2 per cent of the target was procured. Disappointed with this, Hapur's DM Medha Roopam The salaries of many officers including SDM, BDO were withheld.

Of DM   The signed order, dated May 14, 2022, states that the government has set a target of 36,000 metric tonnes of wheat pudding in Hapud district, but so far only 655.84 metric tonnes have been procured, far short of the target. Therefore , your salary is withheld till further orders till 100% fulfillment of the target for procurement of wheat . A copy of the letter has also been sent to higher authorities.

In Hapur, 29 government wheat procurement centers were set up to procure wheat from farmers , but it proved to be insufficient. The Hapud DM has issued an order suspending the salaries of several officers including all the Deputy District Magistrates , all the Block Development Officers , District Food and Marketing Officers till further orders. It remains to be seen how much wheat procurement at government wheat procurement centers will increase due to wage withholding.
