Former PM Imran Khan lauds Modi government's decision to reduce petrol and diesel prices

Amid rising inflation, the central government yesterday relieved the people by significantly reducing petrol and diesel prices. The government has also reduced gas prices.

Praising the decision, former Pakistani PM Imran Khan said that India had bought oil from Russia at cheaper rates without coming under US pressure and that it had made it possible for India to reduce petrol and diesel prices.

"My government wanted to do the same by increasing its friendship with Russia, but my government was overthrown by traitors," he said.

"As a member of the Quad organization, the US has been putting constant pressure on India," Imran said. However, India has given relief to the people by buying cheap oil from Russia. My government wanted to adopt the same policy but some traitors succumbed to foreign pressure. I put the interests of Pakistan first but the local Mir Jafars caused a coup d'etat. Today, Pakistan's economy is in crisis.

India is considering importing more oil from Russia by reducing its imports of expensive oil from Africa and the United States. India wants to increase oil imports from Russia to 500,000 barrels per day.
