The detonating army raised its hand in Pakistani politics

Islamabad, Ta. 3
Sunday was a politically significant day in Pakistan. The political crisis has been raging here since morning. Amid discussions that the army had also joined the opposition to oust Imran Khan, the Pakistani military on Sunday said it had no role in the whole affair.
Faced with a no-confidence motion, Prime Minister Imran Khan recommended dissolving the National Assembly, and President Arif Alvi dissolved parliament in just half an hour. Amid rumors that the army had joined forces with the opposition to oust Imran Khan, the Pakistan Army had clarified its position. The military, which has ruled Pakistan for more than half of its eight-year history, said the political developments in the country today are purely political. The Army has no role to play. Babar Iftikhar, director of the Pakistan Army's Inter-Services Public Relations, said the army was "far from it".
Pakistan's army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Prime Minister Imran Khan twice last week. According to the agency, the army is believed to have given PM Imran Khan the option of resigning, facing a no-confidence motion or holding early elections to ease the political crisis.
