The court sought CBI's reply on Chitra Ramakrishna's bail

New delhi date. 3
A Delhi court has asked the CBI to respond to the petition filed by Chitra Ramakrishna, former MD and CEO of NSE, involved in the NSE co-location case, within two weeks. Special Judge Sanjeev Agarwal had sent a notice to the CBI in this regard and directed it to respond to Chitra's bail application by April 9.
Anand Subramanian's bail plea was rejected by a court on Thursday. Former NSE MD and former CEO Chitra Ramakrishna had claimed in his bail application that Chitra was no longer needed for questioning in the NSE co-location case, so there was no point in keeping him in custody. Chitra was arrested by the CBI in a co-location case after the court denied anticipatory bail. The court has now sought a reply from the CBI in the case.
There are also several serious allegations against former NSE CEO Chitra Ramakrishna. Chitra Ramakrishna was the MD and CEO of NSE from April 2013 to December 2017. Chitra is accused of manipulating the NSE and providing sensitive information at the behest of a Himalayan yogi. An FIR was registered in the NSE co-location case in 2012. In fact, some NSE brokers were given the facility to get information on stock prices a little earlier than others. They were making huge profits by taking advantage of it. This may have violated the NSE's demutualization and transparency framework. The scam is estimated to be worth Rs 50,000 crore in five years, given the boom in buying and selling of shares on the NSE.
