Election Commission also disturbed by monkey infestation, smashed 34 cameras in monitoring room

Kapiraj's gang has also harassed the Election Commission.

Out of the 52 CCTV cameras installed to protect the election monitoring room in Pilibhit, UP, a herd of 34 monkeys smashed them.

When the officers saw the broken camera, they first thought that someone had smashed the camera, but when the investigation was carried out, they found out that a group of monkeys had done this feat.

Security is required as EVMs and VVIP machines are kept in the Election Monitoring Room. The cost of each CCTV camera goes up to Rs.

Now three teams have been deployed to keep the monkeys away from the monitoring room. These teams have caught seven monkeys so far. Fortunately, the EVM machine has survived the monkeys' scourge.

The broken cameras have been replaced with new ones and have been greased to protect them from monkeys.
