Tata Group IPL title sponsor BCCI gets Rs. 670 crore

Two year contract for title sponsorship

BCCI to get Rs 1124 crore in two years for IPL title sponsorship

New Delhi: The Tata Group will be the title sponsor for the next two seasons of the IPL. Tata, one of the country's top business houses, will pay a total of Rs 670 crore to the BCCI for the two-year IPL title sponsorship.

Formerly the title sponsor of the BCCI was a Chinese mobile company. According to reliable sources, the BCCI will get Rs 670 crore from the new title sponsor for a two-year contract.

The previous sponsor company will also pay Rs 454 crore for the terminated contract for the next two years. Thus, the BCCI will earn Rs 1,124 crore for the title sponsorship of the 2022 and 2023 IPL titles.

The Chinese mobile company bought the title sponsorship for the 2018-2022 IPL season for Rs 2,200 crore. However, the bloody clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galvan Valley in the year 2020 sparked outrage against China and its companies across India.

As a result, the Chinese mobile company took a one-year break as the title sponsor of the IPL. The Chinese mobile company had to pay a total of Rs 996 crore as the IPL title sponsor for the years 2022 and 2023, instead of which it is now paying only Rs 454 crore.
