Singapore government bans cartoon book for insulting religions

The Singapore government has decided to ban a cartoon book. This book has been banned due to its catastrophic content. The government defended the decision, saying the book contained catastrophic material that insulted various religions and gurus.

Singapore's Minister for Social and Family Development, Masagos Zulkifli, told parliament on Wednesday that the cartoons in the book "Red Lines: Political Cartoons and the Struggle Against Censorship" were "catastrophic" for Muslims. Whether the book is published under the name of Freedom of Expression or any other name, it is hurting the feelings of the people.

Zulfiqar also has a ministry of Muslim affairs. He further added that the book also contains catastrophic cartoons of other religions. Although the author claims that the book was not published to offend anyone, our government rejects this claim.

Sales of the book by Cherian George, a professor of media studies at Baptist University in Hong Kong, and Sonny Liu, a graphic novelist, have already begun in countries such as the United States. Professor Cherian George is a media expert of Indian descent. They analyze political cartoons from around the world.
