The price of crude oil in the international market has risen to over ૮૪ 5. Although crude oil prices have been rising steadily for the last few days, petrol and diesel prices have not been raised in the country for the last three days.

However, sources said that petrol and diesel prices are not being hiked in view of the five state elections and petrol and diesel prices are likely to be hiked as soon as the five state assembly elections are over.

The last time petrol and diesel prices were changed was on November 4, 2021. On the same day, the government announced a reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel to provide relief to the people.

For the first time since the introduction of daily changes in petrol and diesel prices in 2013, there has been no change in petrol and diesel prices for such a long time.

It may be recalled that on November 4, 2031, the excise duty on one liter of diesel was reduced by Rs 10 and the excise duty on one liter of petrol was reduced by Rs 5.

At present, the price of a liter of petrol in Delhi is Rs 2.31 and a liter of diesel is Rs 7.5.
