Knit-PG counseling will start from January 15

Knit-PG counseling will start from January 15, the Union Health Ministry said in a statement. The apex court, in its interim order dated January 7, had approved the commencement of medical counseling for net PG admission for the year 2021-4.

The Supreme Court also allowed quotas of 5 per cent OBC and 10 per cent EWS. The Union Health Minister said in a tweet that as per the assurance given by the Health Ministry to the resident doctors, after the Supreme Court judgment, the Medical Counseling Committee will start counseling of NIT-PG from January 15, 207.

He further said that starting this process would give more impetus to the country in its fight against Corona. Best wishes from me to all the candidates. It is to be mentioned that Knit-PG exam was taken on September 11, 2021. The exam was postponed twice because of Corona. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be held in January and then in April.

The results of the exam were announced in the last week of September. Admission was then awaited for 5,000 postgraduate seats.

Thousands of resident doctors across the country staged protests last month to demand that PG counseling be expedited.
