New delhi date. 13
For the first time in the history of the country, the Indian Army has received a new combat uniform. Commandos of the Parachute Regiment posted a march wearing a new uniform at the annual Army Day parade in Kent, the capital.
A para-SF (Special Forces) commando team came out with new uniforms to salute Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane at the Kariyappa Parade Ground in Kent. He will now wear this new uniform to go on the battlefield and field postings. This digital uniform has been developed with the help of the Indian Army's National Institute of Fashion Technology (NFIT).
The uniform of this multi terrain pattern has been prepared keeping in view the different geographical conditions like desert, forest and mountain of the country. About a year and a half ago, the ground forces formed a study group on the new combat uniforms. The group has developed a new combat uniform by studying the military uniforms of several countries in one year. This is the combat uniform of the army. Other office uniforms and ceremonial uniforms will remain the same as before. The new uniform is similar to the American military's combat uniform. The fabric of the new uniform is stronger despite the light than the previous uniform. Troopers will also have to wear a uniform round T-shirt with a uniform like this jacket. Apart from this, the cap has also been redesigned.
Controversy has also erupted over new army uniforms. False images are being spread on social media about the army's new combat uniform and the new uniform is claimed to be similar to that of the Sri Lankan terrorist organization Tamil Tigers (LTTE). However, the government has revealed that the new uniform is based on a camouflage pattern, but is trying to tarnish its image by installing filters.
