The first case of Omicron in the Reunion Island of the Indian Ocean, Japan

Paris, Dt
Japan and France said on Tuesday that they had registered the first case of a new variant of the Corona virus, Omicron. Cases of the Omicron variant are increasing day by day even though most countries are closing their doors to foreign tourists after the initial reports of Omicron virus being found and even more dangerous than Delta. Fear of Omicron has once again reduced bookings for international flights, while the number of Omicron cases in Britain has risen to 18.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the Omicron variant is "extremely worrying" based on preliminary evidence, and that the variant could have serious consequences. The French authorities on Tuesday confirmed that the first case of Omicron variant was reported in the Indian Ocean island reunion under its rule. Patrick Mavingui, a microbiologist at the Reunion Island Research Clinic, found the new variant to be corona positive. He recently toured Mozambique.
Japan also confirmed on Tuesday that a tourist from Namibia to Japan had been found to be infected with Omicron. The case comes just days after Japan banned all foreign tourists. The foreign tourist was found to be infected with Corona at Narita Airport on Sunday.
Cambodia, on the other hand, has banned tourists from 10 African countries. Just two weeks after Cambodia opened its borders to tourists who had received both doses of the vaccine, it again banned tourists. Amid widespread concern about the Omicron variant, doctors in South Africa say patients with the variant have shown mild corona symptoms. New cases are more common in young people in their 20s and 30s.
Meanwhile, the impact of the Omicron variant has been seen on bookings of international and domestic flights in many countries of the world. Ticket bookings have dropped significantly following the news of the Omicron variant, said British airline EasyJet. However, it is too early to say how much the Omicron variant will affect airlines. The number of Omicron variants in Britain has risen to 18 after three cases of Omicron were reported in Scotland. Britain has made face-covering mandatory in shops and public places since Tuesday in the wake of a steady increase in cases of this variant.
