Union Minister Anurag Thakur's order regarding violation of Parliament proceedings

- 'Papers are torn in the streets but Parliament is for discussion'

New Delhi: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur today lashed out at the recurring breaches in the proceedings of Parliament, saying: "Papers should be torn in the streets, but Parliament is for discussion."

Just a few weeks before the start of the winter session of Parliament, Anurag Thakur had indirectly referred to the commotion in the last sitting of Parliament.

Anurag Thakur also said that we must improve the level of discussion, we need to learn from the past meetings and improve the quality of discussion, he said at the ongoing Center in Simla as well as in the conference of Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha Speakers of various states.

With the winter session of Parliament set to begin this month (November 7), the opposition is mounting a series of attacks on the government, using a variety of weapons, including the Pegasus spyware, the Raphael warplane deal, farmer laws and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation. This will include questions on extending the time limit of CBI chiefs.

At the same time, Thakur suggested that the week should be celebrated in every state as a legislative week to address the 9 issues that are commemorating the 7th anniversary of independence and to inform the people how government policies and laws can improve their lives.

Let us make the people aware of our legislative history. Can we ask them to hold assembly session in every state? At the same time, can we explain how general policies and laws affect the lives of the people? Even so, the minister asked.

Along with this, Thakur also explained how Aadhaar card and GST can be helpful for the masses. He also called for enactment of environmentally friendly legislation. Aiming at the current pollution, they said.
