The POK, an organization of Muslim countries, reached out amid protests from India

Islamabad, Ta. 11
A delegation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which has consistently made anti-India statements on Kashmir, recently visited the Line of Control (LoC) despite India's opposition. The organization was met by a delegation of Pakistani military officials.
An OIC delegation recently toured Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) and POK's capital Muzaffarabad. India has repeatedly said that the OIC has no right to speak on the issue of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation also met leaders at POK and toured the Chirikot sector of the LoC. The delegation included OIC Assistant Secretary General Tariq Ali Bakhtiar, OIC Special Envoy for Kashmir Yusuf Aldobe and senior leaders from Morocco, Sudan, Saudi Arabia and Maldives.
The delegation discussed the situation in Kashmir with the All Parties Hurriyat Conference in POK. "The OIC will continue to uphold the right of the people of Kashmir to self-determination," Aldobe said. We are also preparing a report on the situation in the region during the next OIC meeting. Recently, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told a meeting of the OIC Contact Group that the hopes of Kashmiris now rest on OIC and Muslim unity.
Opposing the OIC's statements on Kashmir, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said the IOC had no say in matters relating to Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He lashed out at the OIC secretary general and asked him to stay away from Pakistan's propaganda.
