WASHINGTON: The death toll from the corona epidemic has risen to 50,17,694 worldwide, with 2,885 people dying from the corona infection. In less than two years, the epidemic has wreaked havoc on poor countries, as well as rich countries with excellent health care systems.

The top four high- and middle-income regions - the USA, the European Union, Britain and Brazil - account for one-eighth of the world's population, but more than half of the corona deaths occur in these areas. More than 7.5 million people have died in the US alone. The Corona virus is currently spreading to Russia, Ukraine and other parts of Europe.

Rumors, misinformation and mistrust of governments have disrupted the vaccination process. Only 17 percent in Ukraine and only 7 percent in Armenia have been vaccinated against corona. The Delta variant wreaked havoc in India in May, but India now has fewer daily deaths than the richer Russia, the US and Britain.

The paradox of the Corona epidemic, which has no connection between prosperity and health, will remain a matter of debate for years to come. But in most countries, corona infections and deaths are more tolerable for the poor than for the rich.

Money has also played a big role in the vaccination campaign in the world. Many people in the poorer continent of Africa did not even get the first dose of the vaccine against the fact that the rich countries have numbered the corona vaccine and after giving two doses they are now preparing to give a booster dose.

Barely five percent of Africa's 1.3 billion people have received both doses of the corona vaccine. On the other hand, the opening of the country's borders for the first time in 20 months in Australia brought tears to the eyes of Australians coming from abroad.

Australia has opened its borders to international tourists due to high vaccination rates. Similarly, Australians will be able to travel abroad without giving a reason after taking both doses of the corona vaccine. Australians who receive the corona vaccine will now be able to go home without being in quarantine for two weeks.

This provision now applies only to those who have not been vaccinated. 16 flights will arrive from Sydney airport on Monday and 14 flights will depart. Thailand has also been opening its borders since Monday. Tourists from 46 countries who took both doses of the corona vaccine will now be able to return freely without being in quarantine.
